Description
Hillside Farm comprises three cottages, dating primarily to the 18th century but altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The cottages are constructed of squared rubble stone, with hammer-dressed details, and have a slate roof. A rendered extension is present on the east side, and a gable is also rendered. They are arranged as double-depth, two-storey, one-bay cottages, with 20th-century porches added to the north side. Number 3 (the left-hand cottage) features three-light recessed windows with flat-faced stone mullions on both floors. Cottages numbers 1 and 2 have large 20th-century porches and four-light windows (of a similar style) on their first floors. The cottages have coped gables and two large brick stacks. The eaves line was raised, likely in the 19th century. South-facing windows include three-light designs, some recessed, and one with removed mullions. Small 20th-century porches are situated at the front of numbers 1 and 2.
