Description

The Shrapnell Tomb, located 20 yards northwest of the Church of St Mary the Virgin, is a chest tomb dating from 1818, dedicated to Mrs. Elizabeth Shrapnell. It is constructed of stone with panelled sides featuring a fluted edge band and corner rosettes, topped with a gabled roof. The tomb also has the remains of a railed surround set in a stone plinth.
