Description
Somersbury Manor House is a 16th-century house that has been restored and extended in the 20th century. It features a timber-framed structure with close studding on the ground floor, which includes brick infilling, some of which is in a herringbone pattern, and whitewashed render infill above. The cross wing on the right has imitation framing, with brick below and whitewashed above. The roofs are restored and covered with plain tiles.
The house is two storeys tall with attics, highlighted by a large gabled dormer in the center that has a diamond-pane casement window beneath a drip board. There are corbelled stacks to the right of the center with round pots, and additional stacks to the right. On the first floor, there are two diamond-pane windows under drip boards, and two similar windows on the ground floor. The projecting cross wing to the right is jettied on the first floor over a moulded bressumer, with a jettied gable above that features scrolls. An attic casement window is located under a wide drip board, and there is a 4-light projecting window on the first floor supported by four scrolled brackets. A ribbed door is positioned at the angle with the wing. Additionally, there is a single-storey imitation frame structure at the rear right with a set back gable.
