Description
Killinghurst House is a house dating from around 1770, with an earlier wing on the left. It is constructed of brick and has a hipped plain tile roof. The building has three storeys above a basement, featuring brick quoins and string courses. The symmetrical facade has three bays, with a central bay that projects and is topped with a pediment and modillion eaves. The windows are glazing bar sash types, set under rubbed and gauged heads with rendered keystones. The entrance includes a central panelled door and fanlight, framed by a pedimented door surround supported by scroll brackets. The left-hand wing is timber framed, consisting of one storey and an attic, with tile-hung gable dormers. This wing has a three-bay exterior in a 19th-century Tudor style. Inside, the ground floor rear room to the left in the main house features an old 17th-century deep fireplace.
