Description
The White Cottage is an 18th-century building located on Upper Hale Road. It is a two-storey structure with color-washed stucco and an old tile roof, featuring flanking chimneys. On the first floor, there are two central panels, two windows, and a central six-panelled flush door that is recessed in plain reveals. The doorcase is adorned with narrow fluted pilasters topped with moulded caps, a small entablature, and a moulded pediment. To the left of the main cottage, there is a one-storey extension made of color-washed brick and an old tile roof, which includes a three-light casement window with a segmental head on the left and a ledged door in the right-hand corner. The White Cottage is part of a group of listed buildings that includes The Church of St John the Evangelist Hale and Hale Court.
