Description

The Old Forge is a house dating to the late 16th and 17th centuries. It is timber-framed with whitewashed brick and rendered infilling, and has a plain tiled roof, half-hipped to the right and hipped with a catslide extension to the left. The house is two storeys high, with four framed bays and a ridge stack to the right of centre. It has casement windows; five to the first floor and three below. A door is located to the right of centre, set within a half-open, gabled porch. A projecting extension to the left end has a further window. At the rear, a catslide extension extends to the left. The first floor frame incorporates curved bracing, and the rear has casement windows.
