Description
The Old Mill is a building that served as a millhouse for an adjoining mill, which has since been demolished. It dates from the early 19th century to the 20th century and is constructed of stone and tile. The symmetrical front, facing east, features three storeys and three windows, with two additional windows located south of the porch, aligned with those above. The roof is plain and flat over the 20th-century rear section. The walls are made of coursed stone with galletted joints and have brick dressings, including quoins, cambered arches, first and second-floor bands, and a plinth. The windows are sash style set in reveals. The porch is made of stucco and features a simplified Doric order, an open pediment, fluted pilasters, an arched opening, and a decorative fanlight above the half-glazed doors. Above the porch, there is a stone plaque, but its inscription has been obliterated. To the south, the lower walls of the former mill remain, along with a cut-water from a dam.
