Description

Turnpike Cottage is a 16th-century cottage located on Portsmouth Road in Milford. The building features whitewashed rubblestone at the base, with whitewashed brick dressings and tile hanging above, some of which are arranged in a diamond pattern. There is a brick extension on the right end, which is also whitewashed on the ground floor. The cottage has a half-hipped, plain tiled roof and stands two storeys tall, with large stacks positioned to the left and right of the centre, and an additional stack at the front left. The first floor has five leaded casement windows, while the ground floor has three windows beneath cambered heads. The entrance door is centrally located and is sheltered by a flat hood.
