Description
Hawkins Farm House is a house dating from the early 16th century to the front, with 17th and 19th century extensions to the rear. The house is timber framed and has been clad in whitewashed brick on a rendered plinth, with a plain tiled roof that is hipped with a gablet to the right. The gable ends are tile hung, and the extensions feature whitewashed brick under plain tiled roofs.
The original two-storey range is set at a right angle to the street at the right end. It features three diamond-pane leaded casement windows on the first floor, and two windows on the ground floor. A stack is located to the right, with a single-storey extension to the right containing a door. A main stack is positioned on the centre of the rear roof pitch. The left-hand return front, facing the street, has two first-floor and one ground-floor window on the right-hand gable. Dentilled eaves are present on the left. There are two first-floor leaded casement windows and one square bay window below. A hipped roof porch shelters the door on the return wall of the centre range.
The interior contains jowled posts and arched windbracing in the roof, along with a deep fireplace.
