Description
The industrial building to the west of No 31 on Petworth Road is a 17th-century structure that has undergone alterations. It features a long and very irregular timber-framed range. The central section is two storeys high with two bays and has a tiny attic window located high in the gable over the right bay. The first floor is tile hung with a combination of banded fishscale and plain tiles, while the ground floor is made of brick on a rubble foundation. The windows are plain casements, and there is a top glazed six-panel door.
To the right is the industrial building, which is a weather-boarded barn with a hipped tiled roof and a later lean-to extension. The left section displays some exposed square framing with brick filling on the ground floor and tile hanging above. It consists of two bays, with the left bay projecting and gabled, featuring small coursed rubble below and fishscale tiles above. The windows here are modern but in keeping with the style, being leaded casements. There is also a top glazed six-panel door in the angle and a brick dentil cornice below the tiles. An added left bay is constructed with similar materials.
