Description
Summerpool Cottage is a house that dates back to the 16th century, with a later 18th-century range added across the front. It has been restored in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame that is clad in whitewashed render, with the exposed frame visible on the ground floor of the front range. The roofs are plain-tiled and hipped on the right-hand side. The cottage has an L-shaped plan and is two storeys high.
On the street front, there is an offset corbelled end stack to the left. The first floor has two outer three-light windows flanking a central single-light window. The ground floor has two outer two-by-two-light windows flanking another single-light window. At the rear, the old range includes a massive, multiple, offset detached stack located at the centre. There is also a hipped roof porch situated at the angle of the two wings over the door.
