Description

Grinstead Butchers is an early 19th-century house and shop. The building is constructed of whitewashed brick on a rendered plinth, with a hipped, plain-tiled roof. It is two storeys high and features a plat band above part of the left-hand side, end piers, and moulded brick eaves. The first floor has four two-light windows, while there is one blocked-in panel. The ground floor has two three-light windows, one on either side of a panelled door surround with a shallow flat hood over a transom light. The door itself consists of four fielded panels. A 19th-century shop front is located at the left end, with a fascia board, blind box, blue and white tiled surround, and a half-glazed door. A rubblestone and framed pentice projects outshot at the rear.
