Description
The Lion Brewery Buildings, including stores, date from the 19th century and are located on West Street. The building has a three-storey brick front with five bays and a hipped slate roof. The second floor features five small segmental-headed openings with shutters. On the first floor, there are two-light segmental-headed windows with small panes in the three central bays. The ground floor has a plate glass shop front in the first and second bays from the left, a two-light segmental-headed window with small panes in the centre bay, and a modern segmental-headed doorway in the fourth bay from the left. Behind the front block, there are brick kilns that rise to the same height, featuring fine rounded ends on both the northeast and southwest sides, with a hipped slate roof that peaks and is supported by plain wooden brackets from the eaves.
