Description
This is a barn located 10 yards north of Quarry Farm House, dating from the 18th century and significantly altered over time. The structure is timber framed and clad in galleted rubblestone at the rear, with brick dressings at the front and plain tiled roofs that are half hipped at the ends. The western half of the barn has been converted into a house and is two storeys high, featuring two 20th-century casement windows on the first floor, with the right-hand window positioned in an old loft door. There is a three-quarter glazed door in the center of the ground floor, which is set under a brick relieving arch. To the left, there is a single-storey weatherboarded extension. The eastern half of the barn retains opposing carriage doors on the north and south sides, both situated under projecting hipped roofs. Inside, the western half has restored timber, while some timber remains exposed in the eastern half. The building was undergoing conversion at the time of the last survey and is included in the register for its group value only.
