Description

This building on High Street consists of a house that was extended and subsequently divided, with shops incorporated. The original core of the building dates to the 16th century, with later additions from the 19th and 20th centuries to the front. The building is timber-framed and has brick cladding, with the left side of the first floor rendered, a brick façade to the centre and right of the centre, and tile hanging to the right end of the first floor. The roofs are tiled and of varying heights, with stacks positioned at the front and rear of the left side.

Number 74, on the left, is two storeys and has an attic in a gable-fronted cross wing of the original house. It features one casement window on each floor. A partly glazed door is located on the ground floor to the right. Number 72, in the centre, is two storeys and includes a 19th-century shop front extension with a flat roof, set beneath a hipped roof. It has one casement window on the first floor and two plate glass windows with dado walling on the ground floor, with a central three-quarter glazed door. Number 70, on the right, is a single-storey building with an attic, including a lucarne window. A single-storey flat-roofed shop front projects from the ground floor, featuring a plate glass window on the left and a glazed door on the right.
