Description

Poplar House is a house dating from the 17th century, with a front added in the 19th century. The rear right is timber framed, while the front features incised render and a coped parapet that mostly hides a hipped slate roof. There is a rendered ridge stack to the left of the center and two diagonal rendered stacks at the right end. The house has two storeys and late 19th-century angle bays that rise through both floors, topped with dentil bands at the ends. Across the center, there are three glazing bar sash windows. The central entrance features a six-panel door, with the top two panels glazed, set beneath a flat dentilled porch hood supported by chamfered Doric piers. The right-hand return front is roughcast, with some square panel framing exposed at the end.
