Description
The King and Queen Public House is a building that began as a cottage row, with its core dating back to the 17th century and later extensions from the 18th century and late 19th century added to the front and rear. The original timber-framed structure is clad in red brick and features a restored plain tiled roof with ridge stacks at both ends. The building has two storeys, with a plat band above the ground floor. On the first floor, there are two casement windows in the outer bays, and a single-storey flat roof extension on the front left of centre has three camber head casement windows. To the right of centre, there is a half-glazed door set in a rendered surround, sheltered by a tiled pent roof porch hood supported by brackets. A further door is located at the left end in a single-storey 20th-century addition. Inside, there are small remnants of the original framing still visible.
