Description

The icehouse located in the grounds of No. 1 Parklands is likely from the early to mid 19th century. It features a brick construction, with the lower courses built in stretcher bond and the dome in header bond. The structure is circular in plan, with a chamber approximately 3 meters deep that tapers towards the bottom. Only the round dome is visible above ground, which has an arched opening on the north side. A small section of the left side of this opening has collapsed.
