Description

The Moat Farm House, which includes an attached barn to the right, is a 15th-century hall house that was modified in the late 16th century and has 19th and 20th-century extensions. The house features a timber frame on the right, which is clad in galleted rubblestone, with brick infill above. The left side is made of rubblestone with brick dressings and has a tile-hung gable. The roof is plain tiled, with an end stack on the left and ridge end stacks on the right and rear.

The entrance front is positioned at right angles to the road and has two storeys on the right, with an attic in the gable front on the left. There are two framed bays with casement windows; the ground floor has a window under a cambered head on the left and a pent tiled roof window on the right. A 20th-century plank door is located at the right end, sheltered by a gabled porch hood supported by octagonal wooden posts.

On the left-hand return front, which faces the street, the first floor is tile-hung and jettied on brackets. The right-hand return front features tile-hanging on the first floor, along with a 20th-century single-storey extension at the rear that connects to the timber-framed 19th-century barn, which has brick and weatherboard cladding.
