Description
Scotts Grove House is a house built in the late 17th century, with alterations made in the late 18th century. It is constructed from red and brown brick and features plain tiled roofs that are hipped over the rear wings. The house has two storeys and is adorned with a wooden modillion eaves cornice and end ridge stacks that have oversailing tops.
The front of the house is symmetrical with three bays, showcasing 12-pane glazing bar sash windows set in moulded surrounds, and the ground floor windows have gauged brick heads. The central entrance features a six-panel door in a reeded surround, with angle roundels beneath a flat portico that has dog tooth moulding across the lintel, supported by two octagonal columns.
To the rear right, there is a single-storey wing that includes a casement window and a panelled door on the right-hand return front. A large sash window is located in the rear staircase. There is also a 20th-century extension to the rear left.
