Description
The Church of St Hilda, located on Woodthorpe Road in Ashford, was completed in 1928, although most of the structure dates from 1912. It features a red brick, plain five-bay aisled nave and a one-bay chancel, both adorned with stone window dressings. The church has a stone cornice along the aisle parapets and large clerestory windows that are separated by buttresses with gabled tops. There is a plain gabled doorway on the north-west side, which includes a fanlight with matching tracery. Inside, the church has a moulded arcade and a chancel arch, along with a font bay at the west end that projects in an apsidal shape.
