Description

Battlecrease Hall is a house dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The brick facade was rebuilt using yellow brick, and the roof is slate, hidden behind a stone-coped parapet. The house is three storeys high, with chimney stacks at each end. It has three bays, featuring fluted bands of brick across the ground floor and up to the base of the parapet. The second floor has sixteen-pane sash windows under brick arches. A central twelve-pane window is also present. The first floor mirrors this arrangement, with two sixteen-pane sash windows on the ground floor. The central entrance has a rendered portico with a flat roof, featuring depressed arches over the center and sides, and smaller pointed arches on either side. The portico has paired Ionic columns with a noticeable curve, and pilasters at the rear. A single-storey extension, built in the 20th century using brick in a similar style, is set back to the left.
