Description

This is an early 18th-century house, which has been extended and subsequently divided. The front of the house is clad in incised, colourwashed stucco, while later 18th- and 19th-century extensions to the left are built of colourwashed brick. The roofs are tiled, with a stepped design to the left and a hipped end over the left-hand extension, all dating to the 20th century. The original part of the house is two stories high and has a multiple ridge stack on its right side, a further stack to the left on the extension, and a rear ridge stack in the centre of the set-back extension at the left end. The original section features a plinth that rises to the window sill level, a thin plat band above the ground floor, and a modillioned eaves cornice. It has three 12-pane, glazing-bar sash windows on the first floor and two 12-pane, glazing-bar sash windows on the ground floor to the right. An angle bay, topped with a terra-cotta roof finial, is located on the left-hand extension. There is one casement window on each face of the first floor, and plate-glass sash windows with casement doors in the side faces of the ground floor. A gabled porch, dating to the 19th century, is positioned to the left where it joins the extensions; it is half-glazed, half-boarded, featuring wavy-edged bargeboards and roundel decoration, with a panelled, half-glazed door behind it. A further 20th-century door is located in a gable in the angle with the set-back extension to the left. One extension is not considered to be of particular architectural interest.
