Description
The entrance walls and gate piers to Dunally Lodge date from the 18th century and have been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The walls are made of brown brick and stand approximately 6 feet high, featuring brick-on-edge coping. They extend for about 15 feet on either side of the central gate piers, which are 7 feet high and have stop-chamfered angles and tops. The piers have corbelled caps beneath pyramidal tops. The end piers are wider and lower, with the left pier having an angle where the wall returns at a right angle for about 10 feet. The central wrought iron gate includes spear railings on the lower half and C-scrolled upper tracery beneath a swan's neck crest.
