Description

Nos. 46 and 48 High Street comprise a late 18th and early 19th century building with a later extension. No. 48 is two storeys high and has a roughcast front. It has a tiled roof with a catslide to the rear and a hipped dormer, with two end chimneys. There are three windows, featuring glazing bar sashes with cambered heads; the left-hand ground-floor window is a 20th-century shop front. A central, flush-beaded six-panel door is flanked by narrow side pilasters, a frieze, and a moulded cornice. A moulded wooden eaves cornice runs along the top. No. 46 is a two-storey, lower extension featuring a hipped tile roof and a brick block cornice. It has a range of windows with glazing bar sashes, and a cambered head above the ground-floor window. A ledged door is on the left side. The buildings are included in the list for group value.
