Description
Renalds Herne is an 18th-century cottage constructed from red brick, featuring a gable roof with bands of tiles. The building has two storeys, with a later addition of a single-storey lean-to on the east end. A large stack with diagonal brick chimneys is located at the rear. The front elevation includes a string course at each floor level, and the original parapet has been lowered to below the eaves. The entrance features an eccentric six-panelled door topped by a 4-pane fanlight. There are two 12-pane sash windows with segmental arches on either side of the door, and on the first floor, there are five similar windows along with a small four-pane window set into the former parapet wall. In the west gable end, at first floor level, there is a 6-light oak casement window. The property is bordered by a low brick wall with simple iron railings that include urns along the road frontage.
