Description
Battlebridge House is a 17th century house that has been altered and significantly extended in the early to mid-19th century and later. It features a double span, with the two spans from different periods, and an L-shaped wing. The house is two storeys high with three irregular bays on each front. It is constructed of stucco with rusticated quoins. Some windows have raised surrounds with ears and feet, as well as vermiculate key blocks. The roofs are fairly high pitched and hipped, with slate on the front and modern tiles on the rear. There are several chimney stacks, mostly rebuilt but retaining their original shapes. The south-west extensions are modern. The prostyle Tuscan porch has lost its cornice and is flanked by two-storey canted bays. The house has now been converted into flats.
