Description
The Old Cottage is a late medieval hall house that has been converted into two cottages and is now restored for single use. It features three bays and is two storeys high on the left side, while the right side has one storey with an attic, including dormers that rest on the eaves. The building has a high-pitched tiled roof with end gablets, long hips, and an inserted stack. The first floor is rendered, while the ground floor is made of painted brick. There is visible framing on the right return, although only the first floor framing is original. The windows are casement style, and there is a modern enclosed gabled porch made from sympathetic materials. The Old Cottage is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 7, with No 3 being of local interest only.
