Description

Heath Cottage is an 18th-century vernacular building with 19th-century additions, situated on the south-east side of Flanchford Road. It is a one-storey and attic building, originally comprising three bays. The ground floor is constructed of large chalk rubble blocks, with red brick quoins and dressings. Reinforcing buttresses and brick patching are also visible. Cut stone voussoirs frame the ground floor windows. The gable ends are built with smaller coursed chalk blocks. The roof is steeply tiled, featuring two gabled dormers and a ridge stack. A window is located in the west gable end. A slightly projecting brick pent porch with a slate roof is situated on the south face. The windows are 19th-century one-bar casements.
