Description
41 Bell Street is a mid to late 19th-century building designed in a picturesque Tudor style. It has two storeys and three bays, with the outer bays slightly projecting under gables. The building features high-pitched roofs covered in a mix of banded, plain, and diamond tiles, along with moulded bargeboards. The walls are made of red brick with a pattern of grey headers, and there are ashlar quoins and dressings. Above the first-floor windows, sunk panels contain escutcheons, and above these are medallions depicting a male and a female head. The windows are three-light casements, with the central window featuring decorative leading. On the ground floor, early 20th-century shops flank a Tudor arched doorway, which has a headstopped hoodmould and narrow lancet sidelights. This building is included for its group value with Nos 57 to 41 (odd).
