Description
Wilmot is a house built in 1841, featuring a rendered front that is scored to resemble stone, with side walls made of brick and flint. It has a hipped slate roof with stacks on either side. The house is two storeys high and has three bays, with deep bracketed eaves. On the ground floor, there is a semi-elliptical carriage entrance on the left, flanked by two sash windows in architrave surrounds in the middle and right bays. The first floor has glazing bar sashes in the end bays, and central casement doors with margin lights leading to a balcony adorned with foliage ironwork. There is a panelled and glazed door in the side bay accessed through the carriage entrance. A name plaque with the date is located on the first floor. In the mid-19th century, the house served as a place of worship for Calvinistic Independents. This building is part of a group that includes Park Cottage and Woodmans Cottage.
