Description

Orchard Cottage is a 16th-century cottage located on Rectory Road in Chipstead, Coulsdon. The building features a timber frame encased in flint rubble, with red brick dressings and a plain tile roof. It stands two storeys high and consists of two bays. The cottage has casement windows, some of which are modern with glazing bars, while others are leaded. A 20th-century pent roofed porch is situated at the angle between the chimney and the wall, featuring a boarded door and a leaded margin light. At the rear, there is a wing that is plastered and has a plain tile roof along with a leaded casement window. Inside, there is a deep fireplace with a timber lintel.
