Description
Gadbrook Farm House is a house dating from the late 17th century, possibly incorporating an earlier core. It is timber framed with red brick cladding on the ground floor and tile hanging above, featuring alternating bands of club and diamond-point patterns. The thin frame is exposed at the rear of the first floor. The house has a plain tiled roof that is hipped to the right and stands two storeys tall, with a stack positioned to the right of centre. There is one 3-light leaded casement window on the first floor and one 4-light window below. A catslide extension is located on the ground floor to the left, and there is a half-glazed door leading to a lobby entry to the right of centre. On the left-hand return front, the frame is exposed on the gable and features arched bracing on the first floor and jowled end posts. A stair vice is located at the rear. Inside, a substantial frame is visible along with a deep fireplace that has a wooden lintel and a salt cupboard.
