Description
Weir Mead Farm House is a possible hall house dating from the 16th century. It features a timber frame with a brick underbuild and a tile pentice course along the ground floor. The upper part has brick and whitewashed render infill, and the roof is covered with plain tiles. The building stands two storeys high with a stack located to the right of the centre. On the first floor, there are two three-light windows and two single-light windows, while the ground floor has three windows. A part-glazed ribbed door is positioned to the right of centre within a gabled porch that leads to a lobby entry. There is a pentice across the left-hand return front, and a 20th-century wing extends at right angles to the rear. Inside, the substantial frame is exposed, and some old floorboards are present.
