Description
This is a pair of late 18th or early 19th century houses located on the north-west side of High Street. The houses are three storeys high with an attic, and have four windows each, as well as four dormers. They are built of red brick and feature a string course above the first floor, a cornice, and a parapet. The roof is mansarded and covered with slate. The westernmost house has been altered with a modern shop window. Numbers 159 and 161 have a modern brick projection at ground floor level, incorporating a modern bow window with glazing bars and a round-headed doorway. A photograph of the building is held within the National Monuments Record. Numbers 155 to 171 (odd) are designated as a group.
