Description

Hunts is an early 17th century timber-framed house featuring an end smoke bay, with a later 17th century parlour wing added to the south side. In the 19th century, the building was refronted with red brick on the ground floor and tile hung above, but this treatment applies only to the front elevation. The house has two storeys and attics in the gables, with the end window bays projecting. It includes two gables and one jettied dormer, while the northern-most window bay features wooden trellis work in the window openings. There are four casement windows and a large outside chimney stack made of Charlwood stone, which is built on the south parlour wing. The roof structure consists of clasped purlins at the back and butt purlins at the front. The north wing was originally used for farm storage.
