Description

The Chapfield Monument is a headstone located approximately 2 metres east of the porch of the Church of St Mary and St Nicholas on Leatherhead Church Road. It dates from the mid-18th century and commemorates Sarah, the wife of Allen Chapfield, who died in 1741. The monument is made of limestone and features a scrolled top with elaborate carving on an hourglass.
