Description

Tilthams Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th century, with 20th-century extensions to the left. It is constructed of timber framing, with a base of sandstone rubble and brick dressings. The exposed timber frame is filled with sandstone. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The house is two storeys high, with a single-storey extension to the left. A ridge stack is located centrally on the original cottage. The front elevation has three framed bays with curved bracing to the first floor and two first-floor casement windows. A central door gives access. There is one casement window on each floor of the left-hand extension, sheltered by a pentice hood. A half-glazed door and further windows are found in the single-storey extension to the left end. A tile-hung gable end faces the street.
