Description

Clock House is a house, now operating as a restaurant, dating from the early 18th century, with later 19th and 20th-century extensions to the rear. The front elevation is constructed of red and glazed black brick in a header bond, creating a vertical patterned effect. It has a hipped plain tiled roof, a shallow plat band above the ground floor, and a modillion cornice to the eaves. The building is five bays wide, featuring 12-pane sash windows on both floors, each with gauged brick heads. The central entrance has a six-panelled door set within a projecting, shallow surround composed of Doric pilasters, with a dentilled entablature above the panelled reveals. A large iron clock is positioned above the door. A single-storey flat-roofed extension to the right features a 20th-century sash window with glazing bars.
