Description
The Anchor Public House, formerly known as The Anchor Hotel, is a public house that dates from the 16th century on the left and center sections, with a 17th-century section on the right and a 20th-century brick extension to the left end. The building features timber framing that is exposed above a rendered plinth, with brown brick infill and brown brick on the left-hand extensions, all topped with plain tiled roofs. It is a single-storey structure with attics in the center, which are highlighted by gabled, leaded casement dormers. There is a stack at the front right and 20th-century ridge stacks in the center and on the right. The first floor of the end cross wings displays exposed bracing. The building has one leaded casement window on the first floor, along with one window on each floor of the left extension, and four windows across the ground floor. A half-glazed door is positioned to the left of center, with a planked door to the right. Inside, some framing is exposed.
