Description
The building known as the stables and shop to the rear of the Clock House is a former stable that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the 18th century and was restored in the 20th century. The structure is made of red and brown brick and features a half-hipped plain tiled roof. It has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall with irregular 20th-century window arrangements.
On the ground floor, there are two fixed, stilted arch windows with gauged brick surrounds, flanking a square, top-hung casement window beneath a rendered over window and an ovoid arch made of gauged bricks. In the centre of the first floor, there is a double-glazed window with a round head and gauged brick arch, accompanied by a wrought iron balcony. To the right on the ground floor, there is a shallow, 20th-century bowed shop window situated beneath a flat Doric modillioned hood supported by fluted columns. A door is set in a panelled reveal, topped with a panelled transom.
To the left, a projecting wing connects to the rear of the Clock House and features three large round-arched windows under gauged brick, each with a one-step surround.
