Description
The remains of a Roman villa, dating from the 2nd to 4th centuries, are located in the grounds of Greystones. The site has been partly destroyed, but features built-up walling made of flint and cement that outlines the foundations of a double and parallel walled enclosure measuring 5 metres square. This villa is of the double corridor type and includes a set of baths at the eastern end. It is designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument No 95. For further details, refer to the Surrey Archaeological Collections, volume 28, published in 1915, which includes an article by M. Stephenson with plans, photographs, and illustrations.
