Description

Mission Cottage is a late 16th-century cottage located on the east side of The Street in Compton. It features a timber frame that is exposed at the rear, with brown brick infill and blue and red brick cladding at the front. The cottage has a plain tiled roof and is positioned at right angles to the street. It is rectangular in shape with three framed bays and consists of one storey and an attic. The roof is hipped, and there are leaded casement dormers. On the left side, there is an end stack. The ground floor has two three-light leaded casements, and there is a studded ribbed door in a pentice roof half-open porch on the left-hand return front facing the street. At the rear, the thin frame with bracing is exposed, and the building is underbuilt in brick.
