Description

This is a house, originally a single dwelling, now divided into two separate properties, Apple Tree Cottage and Ross Cottage. The core of the building dates to the 16th century, with a cross wing added in the 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and is faced with coursed galleted Bargate stone, featuring brick dressings. The roofs are covered in plain tiles.

The house is two storeys high and built on a plinth. A gabled cross wing projects from the right end. A corbelled ridge stack is located to the right of the centre of the building. Two through-eaves hipped roof dormers are visible on the left side, each with a leaded casement window. A three-light leaded casement window is on the ground floor to the right, with a two-light window above it. A brick-edged, diamond-shaped panel is set into the gable of the cross wing, containing an almost completely worn inscription.

A braced hood covers the door on the left return front (Apple Tree Cottage), and a further door, partly covered by a bracketed hood, is located to the right of the centre (Ross Cottage).
