Description

The well head, located in the grounds of Watts Memorial Chapel, dates from around 1900. It is made of terracotta and sits on a stepped stone and terracotta plinth, standing three feet high with a moulded top. The sides are panelled and feature incised drum angle columns that are attached under scroll capitals. Each side of the well head includes Art Nouveau figures along with symbols. The top edge is inscribed with the phrase "The Lord God planted a garden."
