Description

This house, now divided into two dwellings and a surgery, dates back to the 17th century, with later additions from the 18th century and a 20th-century extension to the rear. The house has a timber frame with a rendered base and whitewashed brick infill; some of the brickwork is laid in a herringbone pattern. The upper portion is clad in tile hanging, mostly in a fishscale pattern. The roof is tiled and hipped over a recessed extension on the left. The original three-bay section has multiple rebuilt chimneys in the centre, decorated with brick bands on the caps and bases. There are two 19th-century windows on each floor. A flat-hooded porch covers the central front door. A first-floor window is set within the left-hand extension, with a pentice roof extending over the ground-floor window below. A steep-gabled recess sits over the left end of the building. A timber-framed wing extends at a right angle to the left, with further 19th-century wings added to the rear.
