Description
Wintons Cottages is a cottage row dating from the late 18th century, constructed using older materials. The lower portions are built of red and blue brick, while the front of the first floor is pebble dash. The roof is tiled. The building is rectangular, with a plat band above the ground floor and diagonal brick banding at the eaves. It has two storeys. A ridge stack is located to the right, and a larger, square ridge stack sits to the left of centre, featuring a dentilled and oversailing top. The front elevation is regular, with six casement windows on the first floor, and six windows below, each with a gauged brick head. There are identical boarded doors under cambered heads, positioned to the left, right of centre, and at the right end.
The left-hand return front is of blue brick, with a framed gable end exposed. A single-storey, half-hipped brick extension, set back, is visible on the right-hand return front. This is included in the listing only for group value.
