Description
Rails Farm House is a house dating from the 17th century, with 19th century extensions to the right and rear. It has a timber frame that is clad in whitewashed stone and brick, with whitewashed brick infill to the partly exposed frame in the center and a whitewashed brick extension. The roofs are plain tiled and step down to the right. The house has two storeys on a plinth, with a plain band over the ground floor on the left side. There is a ridge stack at the junction of the roofs and an offset end stack to the right. The windows are arranged irregularly, with two casement windows on the first floor to the right and two below on the ground floor. A half-glazed door is located to the left of center, sheltered by a braced, gabled hood. At the rear, there are two gabled wings facing the lane. Inside, some framing is visible, mainly on the ceilings.
