Description
The former chapel, now known as Cyrenian House, is located at the north-west end of Ward Street in Guildford. It was built in the late 19th century and showcases a High Victorian Gothic style. The building features rubblestone walls with ashlar dressings and a plain tiled roof. It is a single-storey structure with brick-dentilled eaves, consisting of four bays that include offset buttresses. These buttresses alternate with three pointed windows, each containing two trefoiled lights topped with an inset quatrefoil.
On the right-hand end, there is a shallow gabled porch with stone kneelers and coping, leading to a pointed doorway with ledged doors that are decorated with ornate hinges. The north-west gable end is highlighted by a pointed three-light window that has blind quatrefoil tracery below it. Inside, the chapel features plain plastered walls and roof trusses supported by stone corbels, along with some stained glass elements.
