Description

SU 99 49NE GUILDFORD WARD STREET (West Side) 5/248 Former Chapel at 14/8/84 North-West End of Ward Street now Cyrenian House II Former chapel, now hall. Late C19. High Victorian Gothic style. Rubblestone walls with ashlar dressings and plain tiled roof. Single storey with brick-dentilled eaves. Four bays with offset buttresses alternating with three pointed windows each of two trefoiled lights with crowning inset quatrefoil. Shallow gabled porch to right hand end with stone kneelers and coping. Pointed doorway with ledged doors decorated with ornate hinges. North-West gable end has pointed 3-light window with blind quatrefoil tracery below. Interior:- plain plastered walls, roof trusses on stone corbels. Some stained glass.
