Description
No 6, formerly a barn and stable, is now a cottage dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with a 19th-century extension on the left. The building is constructed of ironstone rubble, featuring some sandstone blocks in the center and right, along with brick patches, quoins, and dressings. The left side has galleted ironstone rubble with brick dressings. It has a plain tiled roof and stands two storeys tall, with the end range to the left set back slightly. There are triple diagonal stacks on the right end and a corbelled ridge stack on the left. The first floor has four casement windows on the center and right, while the ground floor has one casement window on the right. There are two additional windows on the ground floor, located left and right of center, both under stilted arched heads. A board door is positioned at the right end, and there is a 20th-century half-glazed door in a porch at the center. The left end contains a workshop, featuring one three-light and one single light casement on the ground floor, both under cambered heads. Central board doors are present on both floors. This building is included for its group value only.
